This family-run hotel is something of a Tamarindo institution.
Built about 40 years ago, the resort grew up around the hotel, not vice versa.
As such it takes pride of place on the white-sand beach – in fact, it’s the only beachfront hotel in the resort.
It also benefits from being right in the heart of things – step outside and you’re on the main strip, packed with bars and restaurants.The hotel is split into three parts.
The original main wing is right by the beach.
Just across the road there’s a newer section which has two distinct characters – one section welcomes families while the other is a standalone adults-only block.
All three elements have their own swimming pools so things always feel nice and relaxed.The dining scene is one of the highlights at this family-run place.
There are 5 restaurants in all, serving up everything from Costa Rican specialities to wood-fired pizzas.
You’ve got a couple of bars to choose from, including an adults-only place with regular live music.
The 3 pools are worth a mention, too – one’s reserved just for adults, whilst another is family-friendly.
Elsewhere, the hotel also has its own driving range.
